Response message from PRISMAdirect to the KnownDevices query

PRISMAdirect returns the products available for a certain JDF endpoint. These products can be ordered by a customer.

The relevant parameters for PRISMAdirect

The Response element:

  • ID

    PRISMAdirect generates a response ID. In this example, "Response-0000008" which means that this is the 8th response message of PRISMAdirect. PRISMAdirect restarts numbering when the JDF service is restarted.

  • Type

    The type of response message. In this example, a response to the command KnownDevices.

  • refID

    The ID of the initial KnownDevices command.

  • Subscribed

    • False: the query has not subscribed to automatic status updates

    • True: the query has subscribed to automatic status updates

The EnumerationState subelement:

  • Name="OrderableProducts"

    PRISMAdirect only supports the value OrderableProducts.

  • HasDefault

    PRISMAdirect always returns false.

  • AllowedValueList

    The orderable products available at the JDF endpoint identified by DeviceID. In this example, the name of the JDF endpoint is "workshop".

    PRISMAdirect can return he following products: VDP, link to file and link to folder. However, these products are not supported for JDF submission.

KnownDevices response extension for VDP products

VDP products will be reported in the response with their VDP fields:

  • If the VDP document is configured as a “Fixed document”.

  • If the data source is of a type “File source”.
