Clean UV LED Unit Quartz Window

Introduction

Dust and other debris as well as ink mist can accumulate on the UV LED unit windows. There is a quartz window below each of the two sets of UV LED units.

About this task

Inspect and clean the UV LED unit windows once a month.

Equipment

  • Gloves (for example: Ansell Microflex 93-260)

  • Cloth-Poly Wipe 10cm x 10cm (lint-free)

  • Isopropyl alcohol - IPA (>= 98%)

  • Scraper or razor blade

Procedure

  1. Wipe the bottom of the quartz window with a lint-free cloth soaked in isopropyl alcohol.
  2. If you see any cured ink, it can be removed by scraping with a razor blade or similar tool held at a 45-degree angle, afterwards wipe with a lint-free cloth soaked in isopropyl alcohol.
