Clean the buffer plate

Introduction

When the printer is polluting your media with for example uncured ink or glue, check the buffer plate. In case of pollution, you can clean the buffer plate.

Before you begin

Use Colorado M-series prescribed:

  • Microflex gloves for handling ink

  • Lint free cloths

  • Cleaning liquid (IPA)

NOTE

For information on the prescribed maintenance materials, see List of Colorado M-series maintenance materials.

CAUTION

Wear the prescribed gloves when contact with ink or maintenance materials is possible. Gloves should always overlap sleeves. Follow the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) guidelines carefully in order to ensure maximum safety.

Procedure

  1. Put on the Colorado M-series approved gloves.
  2. Go to the media input side and open the media cover.
  3. Inspect if the buffer plate is polluted.
  4. Take a lint free cloth and clean the buffer plate.
  5. Dampen the cloth with the cleaning liquid to remove any remaining ink.
    IMPORTANT

    Use the prescribed cleaning liquid. Do not use any other cleaners.

  6. Dispose the gloves, cloths and pin as chemical waste according to local regulations.
  7. Close the media cover.
