Curling media

Introduction

Solve media touches or print quality artefacts caused by the curling of media. When you are using a stiff media at the leading edge of the roll, the media can get a leading edge curl. When you are using a multi-layer based media with high ink coverage at the side edge or a media stored in high humidity, the media can get a side-edge curl. Follow the procedure below. You can stop at any time in the procedure when the problem is solved.

Procedure

  1. Increase the [Vacuum power] settings in the RIP. Increase with steps of 10%. For each step you increase and have changed the setting: reload the media before you continue printing. Observe the media movement on the platen first, before you increase the vacuum power again. 用紙設定の変更.
  2. Perform media calibration. 用紙の調整.
  3. Set the [Carriage elevation] setting in the RIP to [Highest]. 用紙設定の変更.
  4. Use a different media type.
