The tools in the preview view

The preview view is a WYSIWYG preview that shows how the production settings affect the appearance of your document. You can use a number of tools in the [Preview] view.

Description

  • [Thumbnail view]

    Click this icon on the left-hand side of the preview to display the thumbnail of each page. All thumbnails are of identical size, independent of the sheet size.

  • [Production settings]

    Click this icon on the right-hand side of the preview to hide the production settings.

[Thumbnail view] - [Pin or unpin the dialogue]

The thumbnail view closes when you click outside the thumbnail dialogue.

[Thumbnail view] - keep the thumbnail view open

The thumbnail view remains open when you click outside the thumbnail dialogue.

This icon is displayed in the thumbnail view for each sheet with a marked page.

Blue background

The thumbnail view can mark sheets with a blue background. These sheets contain pages selected in another workspace. You cannot select pages in the [Production] workspace.

Select [Print range] = [Selected sheets] to print the marked sheets.

  • [Thumbnail view]

    Click this icon on the left-hand side of the preview to hide the thumbnail view.

  • [Production settings]

    Click this icon on the right-hand side of the preview to show the production settings.

Zoom selection

Type the zoom factor.

[Show the content of the pages]

Show or hide the content of the pages in the preview. This setting can be used in combination with setting [Show abstract symbols on the pages].

[Show abstract symbols on the pages]

Show or hide the abstract symbols on the pages in the preview. The abstract symbols show the page number and the imposition layout of the page. This setting can be used in combination with setting [Show the content of the pages].

[Trim box]

Click this icon to view the size of the trimmed page. The trimmed page contains the page content. The trim box is shown as a dotted line.
