This chapter describes the varioPRINT iX-series specific extensions of Adobe PDF.
Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) offers an format for the representation of electronic documents. The format is independent of the used application and printer. A PDF document is designed for efficient access and includes navigational information for interactive viewing. PDF and PostScript share the same underlying Adobe imaging model.
A PDF document can be converted between PDF and the PostScript language. A job ticket controls printer-specific features.
