Interfaces to access the printer

There are several starting points to use the imagePRESS C10010VP Series. Whether you access the printer via the control panel or remotely via PRISMAsync Remote Manager, you quickly find your way while operating the imagePRESS C10010VP Series. All interfaces have the same design approach and look and feel.

You can submit jobs with PRISMAsync Remote Printer Driver, PRISMAsync Remote Manager, PRISMAprepare, PRISMAproduction, UPD printer driver or Mac driver.

You edit or plan jobs on the control panel or with PRISMAsync Remote Manager. The control panel, PRISMAsync Remote Manager, and Remote Control show upcoming actions and messages. So, you get informed on all upcoming and immediate tasks.

You configure the imagePRESS C10010VP Series from the web-based configuration tool, the Settings Editor, and the control panel.

Control panel

The control panel is local point to operate the printer and the domain of the operator and the maintenance operator.

Many instructions in this operation guide explain job editing and job management from the control panel.

The table below describes the main parts of the control panel and their functions.

Sleep button , to bring the print system into the sleep mode or to awake the print system from the sleep mode.

Stop button , to stop the print process immediately, after a set, after a job, after a record, or as soon as possible.

Paper tray button , to access paper tray functions and overviews while the active window remains available.

USB port, to enable printing from a USB drive or connecting the i1Pro3 spectrophotometer.

[Schedule] button, to access the schedule.

[Jobs] button, to access job locations: list of scheduled jobs, list of waiting jobs, list of printed jobs, list of scan jobs and the DocBox folders.

[Trays] button, to access paper tray functions and overviews (see the paper tray button (3)).

[System] button, to access system and support features, maintenance tasks, consumable supplies, and workflow preferences

Access key button , to display the user name that is currently logged in, to log in as another user, or to change your password.

Dashboard, to display all kinds of status information.

Status LED, to indicate the system status with a colour.

PRISMAsync Remote Printer Driver

The printer driver is the remote point to prepare a print job from a desktop application, such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. The job properties in the printer driver match the job properties on the control panel and PRISMAsync Remote Manager. A job submitted with the printer driver can easily be changed when the job is visible in the print queue on the control panel of in PRISMAsync Remote Manager.

Settings Editor

The Settings Editor is the location to configure the printer. The Settings Editor uses the same language as the web browser.

The settings are grouped in main and sub tabs.

Use the search box to quickly find a setting.

Use the link to start PRISMAsync Remote Manager.

Click the user name to log in to the Settings Editor, log out or change the password.

A red exclamation mark indicates that a default password is used. You are advised to change default passwords.

A setting can show an icon to provide more information on the use. The table below explains the icons.

PRISMAsync Remote Manager

PRISMAsync Remote Manager is a multi-printer schedule and remote management console to control PRISMAsync Print Server-driven printers.

This web-based tool helps central operators to manage their print production and to provide insight into the production schedules.

PRISMAsync Remote Manager enables to upload jobs, to edit job properties and to change the print queues from a remote location or workstation. Jobs can easily be re-scheduled , re-located or changed before being printed.

You start the software application in the Settings Editor.

Description

List of printers that are configured in a in a cluster. The printer on top of the list is selected.

PRISMAsync Remote Control

The PRISMAsync Remote Control app helps the central operator to stay informed about the print production. Even at a distance.

You receive alerts when actions, such as loading media or adding consumables, are foreseen. Or, in case a problem at the printer asks for an immediate action.

The table below describes four screens of PRISMAsync Remote Control.

PRISMAsync Remote Match

PRISMAsync Remote Match is a cloud-based application that can align the colour, media, and workflow configuration of similar printers in the printer fleet. Printers that belong to the same printer series and have the same printer software version can be grouped in a cluster.

The PRISMAsync Remote Match user can create a cluster, define what to synchronise, decide how to synchronise, and define which printers belong to the cluster. The synchronisation process is started manually at the time the printers are not used or configured.

List of printers with clusters

When a printer is part of a PRISMAsync Remote Match cluster, you will see one of the following status indicators in the dashboard of the control panel.

The synchronisation of this printer has been started.

The last synchronisation of this printer has been performed successfully.

The last synchronisation of this printer caused one or more problems.

This printer has not been synchronised yet.

You can start PRISMAsync Remote Match from the Settings Editor. Location: [Configuration]  → [Connectivity]  → [Cloud service]  → [Open cloud service administration portal]
