The DFD-2 interface specification describes the interface between Canon printers and external finishers connected via the Document Finishing Device (DFD) interface. This specification also contains the DFD-1 specification.
The purpose of this specification is to provide a common base for the implementation of the hardware and software interconnection between printers and external finishers. This specification is intended to be sufficiently specific and complete so as to allow such interconnection with no hardware or software changes related to the interface functions.
